Biography

Born in Tuzla, Bonia and Herzegovina, in 1972, Denis Azabagic begun his musical education at the age of six. His first guitar teacher was Predrag stankovic, who have thought him for eight years at the Elementary Music School of his native city.

Finishing the school in Tulza, Denis Azabagic continued his musical education in Sarajevo, studing with Mila Rakanovic and Vojislav Ivanovic.
In 1990 he is in Zagreb, with professor Darko Petrinjak, at the Music Academy of Zagreb.

Due to the war in ex-Yugoslavia he leaves his country and starts his studies at the Rotterdam's Conservatorium with Dick Hoogeven.

During his studies in former Yugoslavia enis Azabagic won many prizes at the Federal and International competitions for young guitarists (Yugoslavia, Italy, Greece...).

In 1992 he formed the duo with his wife Eugénia Moliner Ferrer, a flutist, and since then they have played numerous concerts in Holland, germany, France, Spain, ...

As a soloist Denis Azabagic gaveconcerts in former Yugoslavia, Greece, Germany, Spain, Holland, Belgium, United States, ...

Among the many prizes he won at the International Guitar Competitions we mention the most important ones:

First prize - international guitare competition "Fundacion Jacinto e Inocencio Guerrero" - Madrid,  Spain - 1993

First prize - international guitare competition IGF - Frechen, Germany- 1995

First prize - international guitare competition "René Bartoli" - Aix-en - Provence, France 1995

First prize - special prize for the best interpretation of the work by Francisco Tarrega - and prize of the public at the international guitar competition "Francisco Tarrega" - benicasim, Spain 1995
